Launched in1997 Snaplite has considerable application experience and approval.
Snaplite, manufactured in the UK, was the first domestic downlighter in the world to have integral fire protection, the first to be LABC approved, the first to be tested in composite joist structures, the first to be successfully assessed to Robust Details Appendix F and the first to be air leakage tested
It has internal sealing against Air Leakage and Air Tightness, has Fire and Acoustic protection built into the fitting and has been designed to operate beneath insulation. It is supplied complete with insulation stand off straps where the depth of the insulation is 200mm or above. It is IP 54 rated.
This level of protection is standard to all models and gives compliance to all those regulations and guidance detailed above without the need for external covers or boxes or the removal of insulation.
The intensive and comprehensive test programme that Snaplite has been subjected to has been authenticated by Safe and Sound Lighting’s winning of the Queen’s Award for Innovation 2006
